Lectors

Lectors play a vital role at Mass. As bearers of God's Word, they are entrusted with proclaiming, not merely reading, the Scriptures with reverence, clarity, and conviction so that God's message may touch hearts and stir faith within the community. They serve as the bridge between the ancient Word and today's worshippers. Through their voice, the Scriptures come alive.

Lectors are asked to practice the reading(s) ahead of time, be able to pronounce proper names correctly and proclaim the Word loudly and slowly. They are called to pray with the Word ahead of time and make it theirs.
