Eucharistic Ministers

The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ?
The bread that we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ?
Because the loaf of bread is one, we, though many, are one body, for we all partake of the one loaf.

(1 Cor 10:16-17)

Eucharistic Ministers, or Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, are members of the laity who help the priest to reverently distribute the Eucharist in the form of consecrated bread and, at times, consecrated wine at Mass. They are selected by the pastor and are commissioned by the bishop to serve in the parish.

This ministry is not just a task – it's a privilege and a spiritual calling. It deepens your connection to the Mass, strengthens your faith, and allows you to be a visible sign of Christ's love and service to others.

If you want your hands to carry Christ to others during a weekend Mass, please contact our office at (403) 272-1258 or email holytrinity.calgary@shaw.ca.
